We had a great (if rather rainy) day down at Wright Robinsons Sports College. A rip-roaring 15 minute set to a brilliant crowd impressed the judges enough for us to be named 2nd best youth band in Manchester. Thanks to everyone who came down to support us and all the other bands, and congratulations to winners "The Klang".
Matthew and Marc are providing the music for the upcoming production at the Hyde Festival Theatre by Tameside Youth Drama group. The show will be on 16th - 19th July @ 7.30. Come on down for a great show, set to all the biggest hits of the 80s. Click here for more details and to book tickets.
SCYTHIA WIN BATTLE OF THE BANDS!!! - 26/05/08
It has been an amazing day down at Stalybridge; we won the battle of the
bands contest!!!!! Our set included old favourites 'Sky Blue' and 'Lonely
Among Them', as well as 'Breaking Out The Windows', 'Fear Of The Night',
and the 2nd outing for 'When You're Alone'. The prizes will see us competing
in the Greater Manchester Youth Games Battle Of The Bands on the 12th
July, as well as tonnes of music gear vouchers and 2 days free studio
time, which might see you listening to our album a little bit sooner!
Thanks to everyone who helped us out, all the other bands, and everyone
who came down to support us.
We will be taking part in the first ever Stalybridge battle of the bands contest on 26th May from 12-5pm at the Staybridge Civic Centre. The event is part of the "Stalybridge Splash" bank holiday event (visit the Tameside website for more info). Come along to show your support!

The Lonely Among Them download area closed today. The single was a moderate
sucess, thanks to all the people who downloaded it! We've finished a few
more songs for the album recently, including "When You're Alone"
and "Nyctophobia", which are sounding good; we'll play them
at our next gig!

First of all, happy new year from all at Scythia. The new year promises to be an exciting time for the band, working on several new ideas for the debut album due out later this year. We have also got Scythia's rockschool on-air highlight, an interview with massive scottish rock band Biffy Clyro, which features their comments on Scythia's "Supersonic" cover version - thanks to XFM Manchester for this material!
